With a career spanning several decades, Ciprut has established himself as a force of intense musicality in the jazz genre. Ciprut’s sound is a unique fusion of Blues, Fusion, and Jazz, and his music is a perfect blend of the old and the new sounds of jazz, with an unmistakable energy and groove that will captivate your Fusion senses.
Ciprut has focused on creating and producing music showcasing his unique sound. He has worked on various projects as a solo artist and in collaboration with other musicians and has earned critical acclaim for his contributions to the music scene.
Ciprut’s latest album, Blue House, is a testament to his exceptional guitar playing and unique composing skills. It combines a perfect fusion of the many different musical influences that have shaped his sound, creating a truly distinctive and original voice that is all his own. Blue House features some of the world’s finest musicians, including Jimmy Haslip and James Genus on bass, Scott Kinsey, Jon Cowherd, Jeremy Manasia, and Etienne Lytle on keyboards, Tommi Rautiainen on drums, and Steven Santoro on vocals. These talented artists bring their unique style and energy to the album, creating a dynamic and unforgettable musical experience.
The album consists of nine tracks, seven instrumental and two with vocals featuring Steven Santoro. All of the songs are originals, except for “Cissy Strut” by The Meters. The two vocal tracks were co-written with Steven Santoro, showcasing Marc’s ability to collaborate and create exceptional music with other artists.
“Jack Be Nimble” is a Ciprut composition with Cowherd on Wurlitzer, Lytle on organ, Haslip on bass, and Rautiainen on drums. The composition showcases the best qualities of fusion music – a deep sense of groove with elements of jazz, rock, funk, and country music that come together in a captivating and unforgettable way. Ciprut’s guitar playing is the centerpiece of the track, with his warmly distorted tone and precise playing infusing each note with a sense of passion and energy that is impossible to ignore.
Ciprut’s playing technique is fluid and highly percussive, striking the strings with a clean and crisp overall aesthetic. His solo on this track perfectly balances the activity of notes with melodic ideas and double stops, creating a seamless and captivating musical journey.
“Take A Cip” continues the enjoyable collection of Ciprut’s originals. The ensemble is Cowherd on Wurlitzer, Lytle on organ, Genus on bass, and Rautiainen on drums, each contributing their unique musical voices to create an enjoyable listening experience. This funk-fussed bluesy melody is highly expressive as Ciprut uses slides and bends to pull out every possible bit of expression from his excellent guitar tone.
Ciprut’s solo is highly musical and showcases his ability to perform lines that have slurred passages as well as passages in that he picks every note, creating an expressive flow that is both impressive and captivating.
Blue House is a splendid showcase of Ciprut’s talent and creativity; the album is being released under a worldwide distribution deal with White Label Records, ensuring it reaches audiences worldwide.
Ciprut’s musical talent and ability to create a sound that is both enjoyable and expressive are at the core of the success of this Blue House. Whether you are a Rock, Blues, Fusion, or Jazz fan, Ciprut’s music will surely captivate and inspire you for years to come.
